Student Perspectives on Sustainability
About the exhibit
A photo research exhibit by the students of the “Organizing for Environmental Justice/Environmental Social Work” spring 2022 class at the University of Portland
In this exhibit, seven UP students generate conversation on the intersecting themes of economic, social, and environmental justice through photography. Their photos are grouped into five themes, serving as prompts for reflection on sustainability for the students and professor of this course, and now also for you, the viewer.
We hope this exhibit is fodder for further reflection and dialogue on the necessary intersections of justice as we work together to build a sustainable future. How do these themes apply to you, your family and friends, and the communities you are a part of?
It is a joy for us to share these queries with you.
Sincerely,
Camille Alik, Kate Andersen, Ellee Becker, Beth Chvilicek, Tatum Hafford, Vy-An Nguyen, Lexi Turner, and Lizz Schallert (professor)
