Description
Hyster Yale Group is an international incorporation that designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a complete line of forklift trucks. To address ergonomic and visibility concerns, Hyster Yale Group has partnered with the University of Portland to investigate alternative methods of steering a forklift. The team has investigated several current steering systems and evaluated these systems based on ergonomics, visibility, safety, ease of use, and operator fatigue. The proof of concept prototype being presented by the team was deemed most effective in addressing Hyster Yale Group’s criteria.
