Aims & Scope
Northwest Passages presents the work of selected history students of the University of Portland. It aims to showcase the best papers from the History Department. Each work included has been selected for its historical merit and uniqueness by a team of student editors that belong to the University’s Department of History. The collected papers adhere to the University’s strong academic standards and shed a new light on their various topics. The work in this journal represents a sampling of the senior theses written by graduating history students at the University and includes notable pieces written by students in the department’s seminar classes. These works take the better part of a year to be complete and represent countless hours of primary and secondary research.
