Description
The Indian Health Services capstone team worked to come up with feasible alternatives to address a failing treatment pond system located in Simnasho, a reservation in Warm Springs, Oregon. The southwest corner of the pond began overflowing and flooding the adjacent land prior to June 3rd, 2019. In order to address this problem, the team conducted site visits, calculated future flows and organic loadings, determined existing volumes and areas of the pond, conducted a flow balance, developed feasible alternatives, and performed a preliminary cost analysis of the alternatives.
