Due to the difficulty of acquiring data from hydraulic tools with no on-board power, the concept of the project is to develop a methodology that can be used to acquire and record values of key metrics of hydraulic tools in use. This critical data, collected during field testing, can be examined and analyzed off-site by engineers for use in future tool design and optimization.
